The Animal collection is already available. BUT I wanted to talk about how this first small, but mighty collection of oversized jumpers was developed.
Grace and I started to work on it in March this year. Seems like such a long time ago.
When the FEEL GOOD knitted jumper started to gain traction I wanted to plan for new designs.
I've never grown a brand before, so the lack of experience is so daunting. But, moving forward and planning is the way to grow - there is a community of people out there who love proper knitwear, and I wanted to create incredible pieces for them.
The oversized jumpers are such a versatile shape - once we had the shape nailed down, the design was up next.
I loved the 90s fashion of the big motifs, and the Octopus was always there in the back of my mind. When Grace blew it up so the tentacles went around the arms and the back, I knew we had something special.
After pouring over the Paris and Milan streetstyle pics on Pinterest, I noticed how cool the mens jumpers were. All knitted jumper of course, but still the mens jumpers seemed to have an edge on the womens jumpers. Maybe it was the casual way they styled them, but the colour and motifs just looked so good on the oversized jumpers.
I chatted to Grace about doing a leopard print themed jumper somehow incorporating the Slow Love logo, and after much back and forth, we got here.
A knitted jumper that is so toasty warm, knitted using the birdseye jacquard technique so it's almost like a tightly layered wool blanket.
The block is technically designed as ladies jumpers - but my hope is that they will be worn by everyone.
