How to care for your knitwear

We want your pieces to last for years to come. Every item is crafted with care, whether hand or machine knitted. Every item is high-quality and delicate, so deserves a little love.

Hand Knits Unique Design

Our knitwear is made from natural fibres and, in some cases, completely by hand. Please remember, your handknitted jumper has been made stitch by stitch- there will be ends tied by hand, not by machine. Each piece is unique, and small variations are part of its character.

Washing Your Knitwear

  • Wash only when needed and always check your care label- some wool pieces are dry clean only.
  • Hand wash in icy cold water with a gentle detergent and a colour catcher to protect from dye transfer.
  • Dry flat, gently press out any extra water with a towel, then reshape and lay flat to dry. Do not place your knitwear directly onto heat (a radiator or airer).

Care For Your Knitwear

  • Avoid sharp jewellery, zips, or bags that could catch and  pull on the threads.
  • Fold your knitwear, never hang as this can stretch the fibres and cause your knitwear to misshape.
  • Occasionally yarn ends may peek through, don’t panic, just poke them back through to the back.

Storage & Longevity

  • Natural fibres love to breathe. Store knitwear folded in a drawer or on a shelf, never on a hanger.
  • Moths love woolen items- store in vacuum sealed bags. Cedarwood or lavender sachets can repel them.
  • A little pilling over time is normal and can be gently removed with a fabric comb.

Repairs & Aftercare

We believe in keeping your favourite pieces going for years. Small snags can often be fixed at home, but if you need help, most dry cleaners offer repair services.

Washing Your T-shirts

Always follow the care label inside each garment, but here’s a simple guide to keep your pieces looking their best:

  • Machine wash at 30°C with similar colours.
  • Do not tumble dry- reshape and dry flat.
  • Use a cool iron on the reverse side of the fabric.
  • Wash and dry inside out to protect the surface of the fabric.
